Have you ever waited for someone? Did you feel the tension in your gut, the anxiousness and shaky hope that you wouldn't be let down? If so, did you wait for more than a month? More than a year?
Tyler, a 12 year old boy from Pine River, waited for the right person to come along and to share his life, hopes, dreams and disappointments. I FINALLY decided that becoming a mentor was the right thing to do. I should never have waited so long. Tyler has been a far bigger blessing in our lives than the blessing we have hopefully provided to Tyler and his family. He is a delightful, curious, adventurous young man who has overcome a great deal of adversity in life. We have enjoyed spending time together each week and the relationship is growing so that we can share more deeply. The impact for each of us immeasurable.

In life we are provided few situations in which we are rewarded just by walking into a room. Mentoring is one of those situations.
I believe that all kids deserve a positive relationship with a caring adult. The mission at Kinship Partners is to help children like Tyler to reach their full potential through a personal relationship with a caring, trained volunteer who becomes their friend, role model and source of strength.
Today I am asking you to consider a gift to help support our "Brighten the Future" Annual Campaign, and help kids and families in our great community.
